Rural Areas Zoning & Tools

In order to direct growth out of habitat, scenery and open space as called for in the Comprehensive Plan, the Board of County Commissioners have prioritized updating the zoning and development tools available in the Rural Areas outside of Complete Neighborhoods. To see what the Comprehensive Plan calls for in Rural Areas check out:

Rural Area Land Development Regulations (LDRs) Adopted: December 22, 2015

The Rural LDRs adopted December 22, 2015, were signed January 15, 2016. Between January 15 and April 1 an applicant may, but is not required to use the LDRs adopted December 22, 2015. On April 1, 2016 all applicants are required to use the LDRs adopted December 22, 2015. Staff is still updating the cross-references in the new sections of the LDRs, they will be functional soon.
