September 6, 2022: Board of County Commissioners Approves Dark Sky Amendments

At the September 6, 2022 Board of County Commissioners hearing, the commission approved of the staff and Planning Commission supported dark sky friendly amendments. These changes have made Teton County eligible for International Dark Sky Community designation, by the International Dark Sky Association. Applicant, Wyoming Stargazing, plans to facilitate bringing Teton County through the designation application process.

August 22, 2022: Planning Commission Recommends Approval

On the August 22, 2022 the proposed amendments were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission with no modifications. The application will go before the Board of County Commissioners on September 6, 2022.

July 14, 2022: Draft LDR Amendments Available for Public Review

In collaboration with the applicant, Samuel Singer on behalf of Wyoming Stargazing, County Planning staff have released a recommended Land Development Regulation (LDR) amendment. These proposed changes will be presented to the Planning Commission on August 22, 2022. The proposed changes can be found here.
