Bed & Breakfast ARU Amendment Request

In summary the applicants are requesting an LDR text amendment to allow Bed & Breakfast uses to be allowed to have Accessory Residential Units (ARUs). The two proposed text amendment changes in the request are as follows:

  1. To re-categorize Bed and Breakfast from a secondary use to a type of lodging primary use, therefore allowing B&Bs to have Accessory Residential Units (ARUs), and
  2. To exempt ARUs that are accessory to a Bed and Breakfast from floor area ratio (FAR) limitations.

  • August 14, 2023 - Planning Commission Hearing
  • September 19, 2023 - Board of County Commissioners Hearing

August 15, 2023: Planning Commission Hearing

At the August 14, 2023 Planning Commission hearing, the requested re-zone was recommended for denial. The item will be heard at the September 19, 2023 Board of County Commissioners hearing who will make a final determination on the request.

July 12, 2023: Applicant Requested LDR Amendment Redline Released for Public Review

County Planning Staff have made the applicant's proposed amendment draft available for public review in accordance with LDR and State Statute requirements.
